Our record in Urbana

Why we run both, on every job

Heat

Reaches into mattress seams, bed frames and wall voids a spray cannot. Kills every stage, eggs included.

Residual

Keeps working for weeks after we leave, so anything that survives or arrives later does not restart the problem.

One visit

Bed bugs die at 118°F held about 90 minutes; 122°F kills almost instantly. We hold lethal temperature throughout the home.

Asked on a call from Urbana

April 2026

Every question below was asked by a real caller on a recorded call, and every answer is what one of our crew said back on the phone, word for word. We give the caller's first name, or their postcode where we do not have one, and never their surname, address or phone number.

You guys don't do that, huh?

We don't do the mattresses. It is easy for you to get encasements of your choice after treatment, you know, and we leave that up to the customers if they want to, if they don't want to.

Answered by Dori on a call,

Can I give them a call to let them know and then give you a call back to get on the schedule?

Absolutely, absolutely. That way we can also pinpoint what day may work best for them to be out of the home for that long. And what is your name? I'm just going to save your quoted information so if you call back you don't have to start all over.

Answered on a call,

Appliances have to be disconnected, you're telling me, right?

All the large appliances are fine to stay plugged in. All your lights are fine to stay plugged in.

Answered by Dori on a call,

Will the ammunition, does he affect anything with the ammunition?

Usually it will not. I mean, technically it will not. We do normally encourage people to remove firearms and ammunition from the home.

Answered on a call,

Do I need to?

That would be a perfect place to put all your plants because the plants would not be able to handle that 140 degrees for six hours. And if the plants are against the baseboards, anything like that, our spray is not a mist or a fog. It's a very direct. beam of spray so we're very careful about not to get it anywhere except for exactly where we want it but if it accidentally got on your plants that would hurt them too okay so I know a lot of people go oh man I have all these plants um well if you don't want Some of them, you can leave them in there, they're not going to survive, but then the ones that you want definitely move on to the balcony or right out your front door for the day, not a big deal. We do have still no joy with the pictures.

In our own words

20 from recorded calls

This is our own crew, on recorded calls about jobs in Urbana and nearby. Word for word. Each one says who was talking and when.

Check the temperature, see how everything's going and the heat treatment, things like that, adjust the heat fans as needed. So it might take me within the hour.

Dori

In the meantime, remind your guests that there's no health consequences to bedbugs whatsoever. They are just simply a nuisance. So I don't have to worry about transmitting disease or any of this other thing. It's just simply they're a nuisance. If they want to run the bed sheets in the dryer on high heat, that will kill any bed bugs.

John

What I'm going to tell you, don't spray any more, okay? Home defense, I don't know if home defense will actually kill the bedbugs that it hits, but the ones that it doesn't hit, definitely not going to affect. And it's not going to affect the eggs. The only thing besides squishing eggs that kills them is the heat. Okay.

Dori

We do ask that clothing be hung up in the closet or folded up in the dressers. Now, that being said, if they have a lot of excess, and I'm not just talking clothing, but any kind of fabric items that are laying around, it is always best to take those and run them through a high heat dryer for at least 40 minutes.

Dori

What that's going to do is kill a few it is not going to reach the ones that are hiding in baseboards wall outlets or deeper in furniture it's just not going to and even if it reached the eggs it's definitely not going to affect the eggs that's why a heat treatment is really needed So you're going to want to tell your dad heat treatment, okay?

Dori

There's no way, unless somebody needs more time over the next couple of days, unless somebody goes, oh my gosh, I need more time to prepare their house because it could be cluttered out, they have kids, work, then we could move you up. But right now, Friday is the earliest.

Dori

I gotta say, and I know this is disappointing, but you really won't even get a spray package for $1,200 because it'll be maybe, but it would be four sprays times $300 if somebody would do it for $300.

Julie

These are treated right, right. And basically what we're talking about is on the floor because people will throw clothing on the floor, they'll throw it over furniture. So that's what we're worried about, those dirty clothes that have been like on beds, couches, floors that could have bed bugs or eggs in them. But all of your clothes that are folded up on your dining room.

Dori

Electronics will be damaged. Those circuit boards that are printed on that silicon is that stuff handles much higher temperatures within 140 degrees. So you'll have any problems with any electronics.

Mike

We just used to be pretty busy. So since he actually did not see any anywhere, he checked both beds and the baseboards, but that happens because they hide and they're nocturnal. So a lot of the times when we go in and treat, they just die where they are. you know, in the walls, deep in furniture, things like that. So sometimes, many times we don't see anything.

Dori

We treat the entire house. If there was just, you know, a concern, well, only one bedroom has them. Well, we can't just treat one room. We have to treat the whole house. I mean, most likely if the bugs are in one room, they're in another one.

Mike

Looking at the pictures, it looks like they've been visiting Florida and it could be pretty much anything in Florida that loves to bite us. Are they out of state? Are they out of state?

Dori

Because that residual spray we put along the perimeter, it's just like six inches inside of the wall, the floorboards, like to leave that unmopped. You can vacuum it, no problem, but there's a spray that is around the entire perimeter of the home. And if a bed bug survives the heat, it's going to hit that line and die. So it's kind of like an insurance policy for a straggler.

You don't want it to melt. Sensitive electronics. Those are usually fine to stay in the home. We just ask that you unplug them. That's your TVs, computer, computer monitors, laptops.

Dori

When you look at it like each bed bug will bite at least three times, I shouldn't say at least, no more than three, okay? So you could have three bed bugs, okay?

Dori

When our technicians come out, they're going to initially they're going to arrive in unmarked vehicles. No address, no name, no pictures and nothing to identify that we are there to identify or eliminate bedbugs when they get there.

They are a lot cheaper now, but really good to have. I mean, really good to have. For these instances and so many others, it's easier to see the text. You can share pictures, you can take great pictures if you ever felt the need, take cute pictures of your cat and text them to your family or whatever. Smartphones are pretty nice to have and the price has definitely gotten lower. So, you know, you might need to look into that.

Dori

Third floor. Now, is there any parking anywhere near your unit, either the balcony or the front door or a window? Is there anywhere we could pull a truck up anywhere nearby? Where's the parking?

Julie

It might even be more price effective in the long run if I'm being honest, especially if it's like been a continual issue versus having to pay someone every time to come out and do it for you.

This is stressful. I want to say maybe about a year ago when I seen bedbugs in my daughter's room, it was really stressful.
