  1. Step 1

    Inspection

We confirm the species and map harborage before anything is set up.

  2. Step 2

    Setup

Ducts run from the unit outside. Sensors placed in the coldest spots.

  3. Step 3

    Heat cycle

Held above lethal temperature and monitored until every sensor reads clear.

  4. Step 4

    Residual spray

Perimeter and voids treated to catch anything re-entering.

What this service is

100% SUCCESS

Heat Assault gets the job done right. Our spray/heat combination is 98% effective after a single day's treatment. But BBE has a 100% success rate. Because of our Guarantee, should there be any situation where bed bugs survived the treatment (a rarity!), we will come back out and eliminate the problem for good. We typically only see this happen in a severe infestation or a home with excessive clutter. In all these years, in any severely stubborn infestation, we have always been 100% successful. We know you expect the problem to be solved and we stand by our work. Heat Assault is unique in that it quickly reaches “kill zone” temperatures throughout the house and continues to rise, ensuring the death of all bed bugs and bed bug eggs. One treatment. 100% Success.

How the treatment works

Heat transfer fluid is drawn from the unit’s 130-gallon reservoir and pumped through dual coil heaters to 205°F before returning for phase two. Output reaches 600,000 BTU/hr — roughly three times an electric system — which is what makes whole-structure treatment possible in a single appointment rather than room by room. A residual product goes down with it, per its label, on every job.

HEAT ASSAULT & HOW IT WORKS

HOW THE HEAT ASSAULT BED BUG HEATING EQUIPMENT WORKS

Heat Assault quickly creates bed bug-killing temperatures by using two powerful continuous loop systems that run on either bio-diesel or diesel fuel. The first loop takes place inside the Heat Assault unit itself. First, the closed-loop heat transfer fluid (HTF) is drawn from the unit’s reservoir and pumped through dual coil heaters (rugged coil piping heated by oil fired burners) to a temperature of 205°F (96°C). Once the HTF is heated, it is returned to the 130 gallon (492 litre) reservoir where it is held prior to phase two of the process. This first loop results in a 600,000 BTU/Hr. generation of heat, making Heat Assault the most powerful bed bug heating equipment on the market. Period. The second loop draws the HTF from the Heat Assault unit and uses industrial grade hoses to carry the solution to remote heat exchangers (radiators with fans) which blast heat to areas that require bed bug eradication. The HTF is then pumped back from the remote heat exchanges to the Heat Assault reservoir for reheating, leaving only the blistering heat to destroy bed bugs and bed bug eggs in the targeted areas.

What treatment day looks like

Preparation

Heat Assault needs the least preparation of any method: laundry put away, clutter reduced so hoses and manifolds fit, and heat-sensitive items removed. Bedding stays on the bed and furniture is treated in place. The full list is on our pre-treatment checklist.

What comes out first

Live plants, candles, lipstick, crayons and deodorants; wine, chocolate and fresh produce; vinyl records, videos and cassettes; aerosols, propane and other pressurised containers; lithium-ion batteries; irreplaceable oil paintings and family photographs. Small items can go in the refrigerator or oven.

People and animals

Every person and every animal — including birds, fish and reptiles — leaves for the whole treatment and for two hours afterwards. Fish tanks and caged animals are moved out beforehand. We give you written preparation and re-entry instructions, and products are applied per label directions.

The company doesn’t really guarantee anything. I had heat treatment done and I still got bitten. When I called them, Mike refused to do a follow up treatment until I show him the picture of live bed bug. My infestation is small and is in … More the bed area and even technician couldn’t see any traces of bed bugs. But they didn’t say they needed to do an inspection before treating meaning they never told me to show them proof before they did the first treatment and now they want proof after taking the money already. I talked to Mike before and said that I have them mostly in the bed and I need them to pick up mattresses Mike reassured me that they will. But technician said that they don’t pick up any mattresses only raise them with the special raiser but he said in my case it’s not necessary. So they lied and misled me to believe that there is warranty and that they will treat bed area.

My experience with BBE (Bed Bug Exterminator) was very smooth. Dori explained everything clearly on the phone and booked me quickly. The technician Chase came and did a full spray and heat treatment in one day, from morning to evening. … More The process was well organized and I felt relief after.

I cannot say enough good things about this company. I found myself in an extremely difficult and stressful situation, and from the very beginning, the entire team treated me with honesty, professionalism, compassion, and genuine care.A … More special thank you to Dori, who was absolutely incredible throughout the entire process. She went above and beyond to help me navigate what felt like an overwhelming situation. Her patience, knowledge, responsiveness, and dedication made all the difference. I honestly do not know how I would have gotten through this without her support and guidance. One thing that truly stood out was how accommodating they were with my schedule. I had a lot of moving pieces happening at once and was juggling multiple deadlines and responsibilities. The timing of when my home would be ready for treatment was uncertain, and as soon as I was finally able to confirm everything, they worked incredibly hard to fit me into their schedule as quickly as possible. They understood how important my deadline was and did everything they could to help make it happen. That level of flexibility and commitment meant more than I can express. What impressed me most was the company's integrity. They were straightforward, transparent, and took the time to explain everything clearly. At no point did I feel pressured or misled. Instead, I felt supported by people who genuinely cared about helping me solve the problem. The service itself was thorough, efficient, and highly professional. Just as importantly, the quality of the work was performed to the highest standards. Every step of the process was handled with care, attention to detail, and a level of expertise that gave me complete confidence that the job was being done right. Thanks to their knowledge, professionalism, and commitment to excellence, I was able to achieve a positive outcome and regain peace of mind.If you're facing a bed bug issue and want a company you can trust, I wholeheartedly recommend them. The office staff is outstanding, the technicians are professional, and Dori is truly one of a kind. Thank you all for helping me through one of the most challenging situations I've ever faced.

I made a down payment and signed an agreement to have bed bugs removed from bedroom. Was guided through the prep steps and was prepared for the procedure. When technician came he inspected bed room and declared I had an ant issue, and … More no bed bugs present. All personnel were exsteemly friendly and kind. The technician advised me to get an ant exterminator service at a much cheaper price, and then for the unbelievable part they canceled my contract and no payment was required. Such honesty, friendly, quick, and respectful service is rare in the world today, and this company needs recognized for it. Thanks so much.

I contacted several companies, but Bed Bug Exterminator stood out because of clear communication. From scheduling to post-treatment advice, everything felt organized. The team explained how to prevent future issues, which gave me confidence … More long after the job was done.

Bed Bug Heat Treatment FAQs

Will heat damage my belongings?

Heat-sensitive items — candles, aerosols, vinyl records, some electronics — are pulled out before the cycle starts and go back afterward. Everything else, including mattresses and upholstery, is treated in place.

Do I need to leave the house?

Yes. Everyone and every animal leaves for the whole treatment and for two hours afterwards. We call before we leave so you know when you can return.

How long does the cycle take?

One appointment, no return trips. The structure has to reach a lethal temperature and hold it, so the time on site depends on the size of the home and how much access we have. We give you the window when we book.

What should pets and children expect on treatment day?

They are out of the property for the whole treatment and two hours after it. Fish tanks and caged animals are moved beforehand. Products are applied per label directions and you get written preparation and re-entry instructions.

What does it cost?

Priced by the size of the home, starting at $1,800, with most homes between $1,800 and $2,800. The exact figure is confirmed by phone before any work begins. See the cost page for the full breakdown.

From our recorded calls

These are real calls. The answers are word for word. The questions are our summary of what was asked, because callers do not record as clearly as we do. We never publish a caller's surname, address, phone number or price.

How do you actually create the heat?

We have a trailer called Heat Assault. It's a 600,000 BTU trailer that's built specifically to do heat treatments for bed bugs. It's a self-contained glycol unit which, for simplicity's sake, just imagine a really big hot water heater out in a trailer. We run that through hoses that go into radiators that are specifically placed throughout your home, and then we use fans.

Answered on a call,

Why does it have to get that hot?

We run the hose from the back of the trailer into your home and distribute heaters and fans into your home, raising the temperatures to about 140 degrees. Reason being is because it's a scientific fact that once the temperatures reach above 122 degrees, all bed bugs, babies and eggs die.

Answered by Charles on a call,

Does all that equipment run off my electricity?

The technician will come into the house and he'll put fans and heaters into the house, and that connects to our trailer. And once that's set up, you will turn the trailer on. It has its own power source, so we don't need to plug into your power.

Answered by Mike on a call,

Will the neighbours know what is going on?

We bring a trailer to your home. It's unmarked. It doesn't say anything about bedbugs. Most people think we're cleaning carpets.

Answered on a call,

Do the clothes in the closet need washing?

They don't need to wash the clothes that the tenants have. If they're just hanging in closets or in drawers, that's fine. There's no problem there. They don't need to take them out.

Answered by Mike on a call,

Do you do the garage too?

We spray the garage for you. We don't heat treat the garage. It's kind of like when your mom used to yell at you, close the front door. You're trying to air condition the outside.

Answered by Dori on a call,

Do I need to be there when they finish?

You do not have to be there at the time when they're done. Of course, to let him in, unless you have a door code or a lockbox or a key stash or something. So once you let him in, you're good to go.

Answered by Dori on a call,

How long before we can go back in?

Normally what he does is he'll text you when he leaves, and he'll typically say, wait two or three hours before you go back in, because we want that heat to stay in there.

Answered by Mike on a call,

What does the treatment involve?

We do a one day and done heat and spray treatment. The spray is the icing on our cake. The cake is the heat treatment.

Answered by Dori on a call,

In our own words

This is our own crew, on recorded calls. Word for word. Each one says who was talking and when.

It saves your mattresses, it saves your furniture, it'll save carpet, carpet pads, it even penetrates your baseboards and your wall outlets.

Said by Dori on a call,

He will prop up your mattress on some risers that he'll bring, to make sure the heat and the air flows really well all around that area. He'll open up all your cabinets and closet doors. He'll flip up your couch cushions and open recliners. He knows exactly what to do to get that air moving and the heat in every inch.

Said by Julie on a call,

Then he'll ask you to stay out of the home for another couple of hours. That way the heat will start to naturally dissipate. It's still going to be hot when you guys get home.

Said by Dori on a call,

We'll spray the perimeter of your home, like your door jams, windowsills, floorboards, and then we come in with a commercial trailer we call heat assault.
