Montgomery Village Bed Bug Services

If you have found bed bugs in your Montgomery Village home, or you are fairly sure you have, the first thing worth saying is that you are not out of options. Bed bugs are stubborn insects, and the sprays from the hardware store rarely finish them off, whatever the label may promise. A proper professional treatment is a different matter. Bed Bug Exterminator serves Montgomery Village and the surrounding Montgomery County area with a heat-based treatment that is usually finished in a single day, and we are glad to talk the whole thing through with you before you spend a dollar.

Why we run both, on every job

Heat

Reaches into mattress seams, bed frames and wall voids a spray cannot. Kills every stage, eggs included.

Residual

Keeps working for weeks after we leave, so anything that survives or arrives later does not restart the problem.

One visit

Bed bugs die at 118°F held about 90 minutes; 122°F kills almost instantly. We hold lethal temperature throughout the home.

Asked on a call from Montgomery Village

March 2026

Every question below was asked by a real caller on a recorded call, and every answer is what one of our crew said back on the phone, word for word. We give the caller's first name, or their postcode where we do not have one, and never their surname, address or phone number.

Can we go back into the building now?

Normally what he does is he'll text you. When he leaves, and he'll typically say, hey, wait two or three hours before you go back in because we want that heat to stay in there for a little while longer. But I'm surprised he hasn't texted you yet.

Answered by Mike on a call,

Hi, how much do you guys charge for a visit?

We are a bed bug exterminator and bed bugs are all we do. So I would think any general pest control company should be able to help you out with roaches.

Answered by Dori on a call,

Why I called y'all.

There's and as I told you ages ago when we started talking about it in September of last year, wasn't it? I think we started talking in September of last year or something.

Answered by Dori on a call,

I have an idea, you said 2200, right?

2,000 because that gets applied if you want an inspection.

Answered on a call,

Is the weekend any extra charge?

I just have to make a call to make sure I could do the weekend.

Answered by Julie on a call,

In our own words

20 from recorded calls

This is our own crew, on recorded calls about jobs in Montgomery Village and nearby. Word for word. Each one says who was talking and when.

Else is fine to say. We are very, very careful about where we spray, how we spray, and the heat treatment does not leave any residue.

Dori

Sprays will only, and we still say that now. As a matter of fact, if we just came out and sprayed, we would not guarantee our work because the sprays are only going to kill the ones on the surface tray. And I know you know something about bedbugs being in property management. They're only on the surface when they want to feed. Other than that, they're hiding deep in furniture or in baseboards or in wall outlets, and that spray just doesn't reach them.

Dori

I'm definitely going to put some notes here. I pretty much know what my... But my higher-ups will tell me that they'll still tell me that the spray is still going into effect. So she should see some dying off. If she does see any, she should still see some dying off. That heat mainly kills the eggs.

Charles

What we do is if somebody says, I have bedbugs, we try and confirm what they're dealing with over the phone, sharing pictures, find bugs that they're finding evidence of. Because with our inspections, I mean, our heat treatments are all day long. So our technicians stay pretty busy. So if we can help them over the phone figure out if they need us or need somebody else, then we'll do so. And we do that for free.

Dori

Give me just a little bit. I know he's in the middle of a heat treatment now, so it really depends on where he is in the process. They don't stay in the home the whole time, but they go in every half hour, regulate the temperature, move the heat assault fans around, make sure everything's going okay. So let me reach out to him and get his thoughts. And if he is willing to do that, then... Then does that work?

Dori

Sadly, the DIY book on getting rid of bed bugs very, very rarely works. It has to be a truly early infestation and you have to be extremely lucky. because bedbugs are not all out on the surface at the same time. So when you spray, when you use powder, it's only going to kill a few. The other ones that are hiding in the baseboards or the wall outlets or deep in furniture where that spray doesn't reach are going to continue breeding and waiting that spray out.

Dori

Are to any of them, and let them know that you've been treated and you're still having issues that are coming from the baseboards that we're coming back out to retreat, but it's a very good possibility that they're coming from the next unit.

Dori

Now, it is the length of the trailer is about 12 foot, so he would have to back up into one of those parking spaces and then unhitch his truck and put that in another parking space.

Dori

Heater is so very hot at the element. There are a lot of instances of hardwood singeing carpet, singeing tile warping. Okay, the vinyl warping. So you want to avoid propane. And then if you are going to shop around this, we get that far. You know, you might fix your own problem, which is my hope for you. Okay. Or find out that it's not bedbugs. But if you end up do shopping around for bedbugs, you would want to ask what kind of heat treatment.

Dori

Unfortunately, a lot of that stuff is just not going to work that well. You know, these are just, I see this too on the internet as well. I mean, I've done some research as well just to see what our customers are seeing and they just, all of these treatments that you're talking about are they just, unfortunately, they just don't work that well.

Mike

Absolutely. Yeah, because that would give you a little more than a week if we do next Friday. That would give you a little bit more than a week to kind of work out logistics, kind of get them prepared for it mentally.

Dori

With steam, okay, if it is bed bugs, I don't know about other bugs, but when you're steaming like beds, carpet, things like that, if something is in, you know, the mattress, in the carpet, it could push it deeper in. So, you know, in headboards that are cloth, things like that, because the steam, you know, hits it at a high temperature if it's right there on the surface and would kill it. But anything that might be under the surface in upholstery furniture wouldn't get that full effect of the heat, but it could make it want to move away from the heat. So, but your house is already fabulously clean. So.

Can you do me a favor? Can you get your phone really, really close up on those? Take a really good clear picture and then I'm going to send you a text. You can send pictures here.

Dori

All right. Well, not only will they cling on to clothing and stuff that are in your bags, but they'll also cling on to the outside of things. So, yeah, yeah. And they'll cling on to clothing, shoes.

Dori

I think monitoring is a good idea. And what we will do is just monitor over the next week. Okay. If you get new bites.

Dori

It could and it could be that they didn't end up with bed bugs until towards the end of staying in your home And a lot of times people don't know what they're dealing with for a good month or two and then they discover bedbugs. So a lot of times people will get bit and you know because it's like summertime in Florida and we live in Florida we know everything wants to bite us. They don't even think about it or they don't show the bite.

Dori

A lot of other bugs can be itchy as well because sometimes we have an allergic reaction to either the bite or whatever they have on their probiscus or, you know. little prongs, whatever they bide us with. So, and as we get older, I know for a fact I never used to be allergic to anything. And about the time I hit maybe mid-40s, I started becoming allergic to stuff. And now I'm like miserable with allergies and I never had them, you know.

Dori

Alone do not kill the bed bug eggs. And sure, yes, you can kill the adults with a pesticide, but what they're not telling you is that in a couple of weeks or a month or less, you will be dealing with the issue again, and they will string you along, it seems for months and months, if not over a year, while, you know, they're just, you know, they're treating like an ATM machine and it's just very dishonest.

Mike

That could be an ant, because ants have a little poison in their bite. It could be mosquito, because they have that little anesthetic, you know, on their probiscus, just like bed bugs do.

Dori

That is the difference. When you go with a company that does just pesticides, even if we did just pesticides, we would not be able to get all of the bedbugs and their eggs in one day. The pesticide will only kill the ones that are on the surface. It's definitely not going to affect the eggs at all, and the ones that are hiding, which bedbugs do until they want to feed, are not affected by the spray.
