Reaches into mattress seams, bed frames and wall voids a spray cannot. Kills every stage, eggs included.
Keeps working for weeks after we leave, so anything that survives or arrives later does not restart the problem.
Bed bugs die at 118°F held about 90 minutes; 122°F kills almost instantly. We hold lethal temperature throughout the home.
You get the prep list and an arrival window. Anything you are unsure about, we answer on the phone first.
Quoted over the phone before anything is booked, so there is no site visit and no surprise on the day.
A full heat cycle takes the whole home to lethal temperature, then a residual product goes down per its label.
Eight to eleven hours on site, depending on the size of the property and how much is in it.
We walk you through what we found and what to watch for, and the home is yours again the same day.
If bed bugs come back inside sixty days we return and treat again at no cost.
Every question below was asked by a real caller on a recorded call, 3 of them from Silver Spring and the area we cover from here, and every answer is what one of our crew said back on the phone, word for word. We give the caller's first name, or their postcode where we do not have one, and never their surname, address or phone number.
We don't use propane. We actually, our trailer is our heat assault system. It uses its own generators and it uses glycol. There's no smell, there's very little sound. So even though we have powerful generators, it's actually pretty quiet. So we run hoses from our trailer into the home, set up our heat assault fans on the end of the hoses and place them strategically throughout the home. We raise the temperature up very, very quickly.
Answered by Dori on a call,
The reason why I ask is that floor clutter especially can hurt the effectiveness of our treatments. Bed bugs hang down low. Okay.
Answered by Dori on a call,
I'll tell you any kind of combustibles must be out of the heat treatment area so need to be taken out of your home the day of heat treatment that's any kind of aerosol cans fire extinguishers oxygen tanks lighters vapes fireworks, firearms, and ammunition. So that protects your home, that protects our equipment, and it protects our technicians. Okay. And then there are certain items that should be removed from the home because the heat can harm them. Um, let's start with sensitive electronics. Everybody wants to know where my computer's, my gaming stations, my TV's okay. Yes. We just ask you to unplug those for the day. Okay. They are all built to withstand the heat. So with sensitive electronics, you would unplug them. When you come back home, it's still going to be pretty hot. So we suggest that you open up the windows, get a cross breeze going, bring that temperature back down to a normal temperature before you plug back in your sensitive electronics, okay? Items that could be damaged by the heat. Freestanding candles. If they're candles in a jar or a container, you know when you light the dang candle, it's going to melt, but it stays in the jar of the container.
Answered by Dori on a call,
We usually start our treatments at 8 a.m. It is an all-day process where we need all people and pets out of the home from 8 a.m. And we say till 8 p.m., but we usually have you back home about 6.30.
Answered on a call,
Other models of alcohol with the screw caps, those are going to be fine. It's just the ones with the corks because those have the potential to pop if they get hot. So, okay.
Answered by Mike on a call,
It sure is. And that way we can confirm I have I know one of our technicians in the area is getting some maintenance done on his truck today. So I don't know if he's more in his area of winter garden or if he's close to your area. I'm guessing it's probably winter garden. So unsure when he would be able to get to, you know, yeah.
Answered by Dori on a call,
My name is Dori, D-O-R-I, and I just sent you some information so you have it at your fingertips.
Answered by Dori on a call,
We're pretty big. We're in Florida, D.C., Michigan as of right now.
Answered by Charles on a call,
This is our own crew, on recorded calls about jobs in Silver Spring and nearby. Word for word. Each one says who was talking and when.
We have a 60-day guarantee that you are bed bug free. If by chance there is a problem within those 60 days, we come back out. Good news, it's not that 12-hour treatment from before. It's only you have to be out of the house for four hours and we come in and respray and that takes care of the problem. Okay.
I would suggest you take those suitcases out from under the bed, maybe before you head out for the day if you have time, just take all your clothing from the suitcases and run it through a high heat dryer, okay, and that way hang them directly up in the closet for now, okay, or put them in the dresser.
With the second floor apartment, depending on how easy it is to get to, because our heat treatment is our trailer.
We raise the heat up very, very quickly in the home to 140 degrees and we hold it there all day. And that way that keeps penetrating everything, closing your closet, closing your dresser drawers, furniture, carpet pads that didn't have it, it even penetrates the baseboards, wall outlets, and the insulation in your walls to get the bedbugs and eggs that are not hiding and nesting on the beds or the couches, anything like that, because they do love baseboards.
I hope that the community is doing heat treatments and not sprays. Sprays will only kill the bedbugs that are on the surface. It won't kill the ones that are hiding and nesting and it definitely won't kill the eggs. So let them know, you know, if you know the people to spread the word they definitely need heat treatment to actually eliminate the bedbugs and the eggs.
Yellow trailer, brown wood deck, brown wood. And it never helps because Google, when they're doing their maps, they don't go down every road sometimes. And that makes it difficult.
Let's talk about the prep. She can't do anything because she's disabled, so let me tell you what the prep is, and then let's brainstorm together how to solve this.
Once you have any, yeah, D-O-R-I, and I'll put that in there, a lot of people go, what? So I'll put that in the information as well so you have it. Now, what I'm going to say is to prepare for treatment, and now while you're waiting for the check to clear, it's a good idea to do that. So I'll let you know what we expect.
Not at all. That's a dry heat and it's great for mold. As a matter of fact, after Milton and Helene last year, some of our customers that had come to us for bed bug treatment had flooding from the hurricane. And they said, would this help? And it's like, heck yeah, it'll help. So we came and dried out their homes and it helped them with mold remediation.
Them in, bringing them in their bag or on their person if they sit on the couch. Um, so we got to get you taken care of, but we really want you to try to not get, you know.
Anything like that needs to be out of that heat treatment area, so out of any of your living space.
At Bedbug Exterminator, all we do is our mission is completely focused on eliminating and eradicating bedbugs. We are not a pest control company or general pest control company, I should say. So our only mission is to eradicate bedbugs and we're very good at it. We've been doing it for... for several years. We have, I'm not sure if you've looked at any what the treatment options are for bed bugs, but here at Bed Bug Exterminator, we use what's called a combined treatment.
All that laundry that you had in the shed, which was a huge pile, has been washed and dried and placed in the empty hamper in your garage.
Good morning. My name is John Weaver with Bedbug Exterminator. I was reaching out to you to a message you had submitted to us yesterday evening.
I know he always has to like put his opinion out there. Okay, so. to get the most effective treatment we can give you, okay? And you want the most effective treatment. This isn't a new problem. This is a problem that has traveled with you, okay?
Going very, very well. I just wanted to reach out to you and let you know that Victor is finished. will send the actual text snippet to Elias so he's notified as well. But Victor asked me to reach out to you and say thank you for the orange juice too. There were absolutely no issues with the heat treatment. Everything heated up well. He locked the place back up. And we just ask that you do not wipe down baseboards, windowsills, or door jams for three to four weeks so that pesticide barriers stay strong in case, you know, there are some coming from another unit just in case.
Say, listen, he's getting some weird vibes. We're trying to narrow down where it's coming from. So we're going to have him here at home for a week, you know, or two.
Aren't yeah, they do the whole condo only because you don't they're masters of hiding. Sometimes they even nest in the insulation in the walls. That's exactly why we do whole home treatments, because if you try to do just a single area or a single room, it can actually spread them and we can't ensure they already aren't there, especially with the eggs and larva and pesticides alone won't kill eggs or larva of bedbugs.
In a pickle, this happens all the time. And you also don't want to go talking to your landlord about bedbugs if you don't have them. So that's definitely premature. And if you do, you know, you're in a pickle. It's hard to be a little sensitive. And we understand that and we'll analyze it all with you and, you know, kind of talk you through how to best handle it.
Please. You can send the picture right back to the same number that I sent you. The information here, the pictures of the bedbugs.

Quoted as bed bug experts
Reporters do not find us in a directory; they come looking for someone who does this all day. CNN introduces Allan as the operations expert at Bed Bug Exterminator, and he has been quoted by name in thirty articles across fifteen national outlets.
Community-focused service
Seven offices across Florida and Maryland, each with its own locally staffed crew. The office that quotes your job is the one that turns up to it.
Affordable, high-quality heat solution
Priced by the size of the home rather than by the room, and quoted over the phone before anything is booked. No site visit, and no per-room upcharges.
Experienced, dedicated team
As Allan puts it: once we take on your project, your bed bug problem becomes my bed bug problem. If it turns out not to be bed bugs, we say so and cancel the contract. That has happened.
The single best solution — Heat Assault
Heat Assault reaches kill-zone temperature throughout the house and keeps climbing, which is what takes out the eggs as well as the adults. Paired with a residual spray on every job.

Over the years, we have developed a clear process and plan that works no matter the scale of infestation. As time has passed and our team has worked together more, we have focused on delivering treatment and solutions for bed bugs that are proven to work. To do this, we follow a strict five-step process that helps us to prepare any property in Silver Spring and beyond for the removal of bed bugs:
This five-step process means that we can, more often than not, eradicate all bed bugs present in your building in one visit. Instead of a course of return trips, you get a solution that is covered for a minimum of sixty days. Plan on the crew being with you for most of a working day: a full heat cycle plus the spray usually runs somewhere between eight and eleven hours, depending on the size of the property and how much is in it.
Heat only works if the whole structure gets past lethal temperature and stays there. That is a question of output, and output is a number.
| Heat only | Chemical | Combination | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kills eggs | Yes | Often misses | Yes |
| Residual protection | None | A few weeks | Weeks |
| Reaches hidden voids | Bugs flee deeper | Limited | Yes |
| Visits needed | 1 (with gaps) | 2–4 | Usually 1 |
| Guaranteed | — | — | Yes |
Bed bugs die at 118°F held around 90 minutes, and 122°F kills almost instantly. We hold lethal temperature throughout the home.
Older housing stock means more cracks and crevices for bed bugs to harbour in. Rentals turn over faster than owner-occupied homes, and turnover is how an infestation arrives.

Treatment is priced by the size of the home, starting at an $1,800 minimum, so most Silver Spring homes run somewhere between about $1,800 and $2,800. There are no surprise per-room fees, and we go over the exact price with you by phone first. See the full pricing breakdown.
The reliable way to kill bed bugs at every life stage, including the eggs that store-bought sprays tend to miss, is our combination treatment. We pair Heat Assault thermal heat, which kills the bugs on contact, with a residual spray that keeps working for weeks afterward to catch anything that survives. You can see the temperatures that kill bed bugs in full.
While heat treatment will kill off bed bugs of all shapes and sizes, they are hardy creatures that can shrug off the heat of an ordinary hot day. Therefore, do not rely upon the warmth of a closed-up room: you need something that takes the heating level right up, which is what our professional Heat Assault equipment does.
They could have arrived by someone bringing them into your Silver Spring home unknowingly, or through cracks and gaps from one property to the next. What draws them in is body heat and the carbon dioxide we breathe out, and not clutter, though clutter does give them more places to hide. Our bed bug FAQ covers more.
They will not. The bed bug is an elusive creature that can easily move from one part of your home to the next and never stay in one place, and it can wait months between meals. Left alone, it simply has the time to spread to other rooms and, in an apartment, to the units next door.
In most cases the whole job is finished in a single day. You and any pets do need to be out of the home while the heat runs, and for roughly two hours afterward while it cools, but there are no repeat visits to schedule the way chemical-only plans usually require.
If you have tried the usual DIY treatments, you are likely only killing a small handful of the adult populace, leaving the younglings to take their place. A professional treatment that reaches every life stage in a single visit tends to cost less in the end than a long run of failed attempts.
Clearly, you are dealing with an infestation of bed bugs in Silver Spring. Some of the most common signs that we recommend you look out for when dealing with bed bugs include, but are not limited to:
Unfortunately, these signs prompt that you are dealing with a bed bug problem. With that being the case, taking action as soon as possible would be wise. If you spot even one of these signs, it is probably a clear indication that you have bed bugs loitering around your home or business.
