Bed Bug Help for Maitland Homes

Anyone who has spent time or lives in Maitland will know just how much fun there is to have around the city. This is a place that is all about arts and crafts, with key locations like the Maitland Art Center being vital cogs of the local economy. This artistic focus has helped to create a beautiful, friendly place to live. Do you know what isn’t very beautiful, though? Being besieged by the scourge that is bed bugs!

These frustrating pests have a nasty habit of taking over our properties. Whether you live in a household in Maitland that has bed bugs or you are dealing with an infestation in your business, action must be taken. Ignoring bed bugs might seem like the easy option, but believe us when we say that it does nothing. Bed bugs are resilient pests who will hang around permanently, continuing the cycle anew. What can you do when that happens? Easy: Call BBE!

We are bed bug specialists in Maitland, providing the most effective and reliable forms of treatment for your bugs. Using heat treatment, we create conditions in your building where no bed bug can survive. Before long, the problem is gone, and you can sleep soundly at night!

Why we run both, on every job

Heat

Reaches into mattress seams, bed frames and wall voids a spray cannot. Kills every stage, eggs included.

Residual

Keeps working for weeks after we leave, so anything that survives or arrives later does not restart the problem.

One visit

Bed bugs die at 118°F held about 90 minutes; 122°F kills almost instantly. We hold lethal temperature throughout the home.

Asked on a call from Maitland

May 2026

Every question below was asked by a real caller on a recorded call, and every answer is what one of our crew said back on the phone, word for word. We give the caller's first name, or their postcode where we do not have one, and never their surname, address or phone number.

You can't see them?

The adults are about the size of an apple seed. And then, of course, they go smaller all the way down to the egg and the nymph size, which is about the size of the head of a straight pin. So yeah, they can be seen.

Answered by Dori on a call,

When I called them, they said I didn't have that coverage, but I got a paper saying I do.

You do need to leave the house. Usually we can get it done, say we arrive around 8 a.m., you can usually return to your home around 6 p.m.

Answered by John on a call,

Does it come from?

I didn't. That must have been someone else that I talked to a couple of weeks ago. Another sister helping a sister. So I just got sisters confused.

Answered on a call,

Is Orlando a hotspot?

It is. Yes, we've seen major increase in bed bug activity, a major resurgence, something like 500% in the last five or six years. So it's gotten... It's rough, and compounding that is that the fact that it's summertime, and which means that lots of people are traveling and visiting other places and they come back home, and that's, yeah, so that's how they travel around. So just looking at our calendar, it actually looks like the first availability that we will have would be on August the 3rd.

Answered by Mike on a call,

If we said, if we talked it over and we said, you know, that sounds good, let's get them out here, when would that be?

The earliest that we can have someone out there is going to be on Thursday.

Answered by Mike on a call,

What's the process here?

Based on the image, I can confirm that it is a bed bug, but our technicians also see these images and so they can, you know, chime in and let me know just for sure. Now, if you have any other pictures that are maybe closer up. That would also help us make sure and determine that it is indeed a bed bug. And if you have any areas on you where you've been bitten, those bites are usually going to be in groups of three, maybe on your ankles or your neck. If you have any images like that, you can also text them here. That would just help us confirm.

Answered on a call,

In our own words

20 from recorded calls

This is our own crew, on recorded calls about jobs in Maitland and nearby. Word for word. Each one says who was talking and when.

It needs a follow-up spray maybe two to three weeks later, but that's very rare. And if this is an Airbnb, it's not full of clutter, this treatment is going to work in one day.

Julie

May be a few left over that it's highly unlikely, but it can happen. You just have to contact us and then we will go back out at no additional charge and we will treat again until it's completely eradicated. And we always honor our warranty.

Mike

Ready for that pre-treatment checklist to prepare their home for treatment. That is taking certain items out of the home if they may fall into a category where they could melt, okay? That is taking out aerosol cans, fire extinguishers. There's a lot of different things that...

Dori

Just get a video take a video recording of it on your phone and then send that to us and that right there would provide strong evidence that we're dealing with some live bed bugs it's You know, the heat treatment plus that pesticide spray is very, very strong. It's only a very tiny percentage of people who continue to have bed bug problems after that treatment.

Mike

Underneath underneath is more of a shed okay all right so um uh while we do a heat treatment and a spray treatment usually and it's easier to explain in a house A house that is fully insulated, we do a heat treatment and we lay a spray down, which is a second layer of protection. That's kind of the icing on our cake. The cake is the heat treatment. And garages, on porches, so sheds.

Dori

Then any kind of bedding any kind of clothing you have in and around your room laying on the furniture or anything like that run it through a high heat dryer for at least 40 minutes it'll kill any bed bugs or eggs that are on there okay a lot of the times people rush and grab the raid or whatever they have order stuff online and even though there's a lot of information about doing it yourself get yourself online, very rarely do people

Dori

It really, it takes several months and you might not get them and you're a fairly big apartment. It's not a little one bedroom studio or something.

Julie

Now, what we do is we treat the whole home. Being that bedbugs hitchhike into your home before you realize what's going on, there's a very good chance that they've hitchhiked into other areas of your home. You're just not seeing the problem yet. So we treat the whole home because if we came out and treated one room or two rooms, we would get most of them, but there's a chance we would spread them to other rooms.

Dori

Definitely not, we're definitely not a regular pest control company. You know, some of these companies, they, they do these free inspections because they only do a spray treatment. And with this spray treatment, you know, that That can also, it can cost. It can cost. But it's also time consuming, too, because they'll do it like four or five times and it actually gives you a headache because you're like, when are these things going to get out of here?

Charles

All right. So let me tell you a bit about our services and what we do. So we are not a general pest control company. We only treat for the elimination of bed bugs. And so how we do that is with a spray treatment and a heat treatment. We do a combined treatment of the two because we don't want to just treat the ones that you've seen so far, but we also need to be able to target the larvae, the eggs, and those areas where they like to hide.

Let me tell you a little bit about how our service works. Um, so we specialize in specifically bed bug treatment. It's all that we do. And we do a combined treatment of spray and heat because with bed bugs, we have to do more than just get the ones that you may be seeing, but we also want to target the larvae or the eggs. and anywhere where they like to hide. So our techs will come out to your home in an unmarked vehicle so there won't be any logos or any kind of description that, you know, says that you were there for bedbugs. We're going to make that private.

Don't kill the eggs. So even if you do kill the ones that are cruising around at that time, if a bunch of eggs were laid, they're hatching and they're coming out to get you.

Dori

Now with bed bugs, I know they're named bed bugs and it's name only. As you said, she was on the couch and was bit there. Bed bugs were named bed bugs because that was the only time they could get to our great-great-grandparents.

Dori

They were coming out of the suitcase, and it was a female, an adult female. That's when you need to worry because she could have laid five eggs in your suitcase.

Dori

We start at 8 a.m. in the morning and we promise to have you back in the home no later than 8 p.m. that same day.

Dori

On this tape, there's a couple that got smushed and there's blood in them. So they fed on somebody. Okay. Now you could have been fed on as well. It's just.

Very good chance, and I don't know who got them first. Doesn't matter. Try not to have that argument, but she very likely has them. The fact that this is only a week, if you were the first one to get them, maybe she doesn't have them, but they're going to have to watch like a hawk over there for the next month, and if she has them and she doesn't treat it quickly, they will bring them back.

Julie

Have bedbugs clinging on them. So even though they have gone through the treatment, you still don't want the bedbugs on you. So if that's the case. Um, then, you know, if you were planning on throwing it away anyway, do so, but make sure it's wrapped up. Take garbage bags and cut them, you know, the big garbage bags and wrap it around and then tape it up, whatever.

Dori

The square foot yeah so there's a there's a few different factors that go into it but the primary factor is the size of the house so the larger the home the more it costs to treat it Um, also, uh, we do take into consideration like how many floors it is because we have dealt with like very large homes that are three, four stories high. So we usually charge a little bit more for each floor. So there's a couple of factors that go to it.

Mike

Even though our spray is non-harmful, there's a lot of people that don't use non-harmful toxins, you know? Um, so it is, um, it's the law with pest control that we have to have that seven day window. Um, so we will keep an eye on it. So just let me know if anything else happens, but know that, you know, this is one weird. And that's it, you know, nothing else.
