One-Day Bed Bug Treatment in Dr. Phillips

Just make sure everybody leaves bed bug free. So run clothes, anything you're going to bring with you through the high heat dryer tonight, have it hanging up in the bathroom. Get in showers, get dressed, do not sit on any furniture or beds to put shoes on.

You want to do, you want to make sure that the center of every room is free because we need to bring our heat treatment into the center of every room. And we want the baseboards as free and clear as possible, hence no floor clutter, so our technicians can spray all the baseboards for you throughout each room, every closet, okay?

Sadly, that means that all of them probably aren't on your bed because they're territorial, so they do tend to move out. They will get into your bed frames, headboards, box springs, mattress, but they will also nest behind baseboards and wall outlets and in other furniture. So it depends on where they came into the home and where they dropped off.

Furniture is not an issue, at least for us. Clutter is. You know, stuff piled up on the floor, things like that. That's an issue for us. But cluttered, I mean, furniture, definitely not. We can work our way around furniture. The heat treatment flows really well. We use heat fans that flow all around. Let me ask you, is this an older apartment complex?

Within that 60 day guarantee that we come out and we handle that very small problem. If we don't hear anything, though, you know, we just assume that we knocked everything right out of the park. We're good. But then, you know, a year later or six to seven to eight months later, that could easily be a new infestation that came in from somewhere.

The clutter, the clutter, absolutely. So we ask that the floor be free of clutter. And what we don't want people to do is pick up floor clutter and put it on couches or chairs or beds. We need those free and clear. Okay. So if it is stuff that can be thrown away. throw it away.

The spray, you have to let it dry for, we say, three hours. The law, the FDA says 90 minutes, but we tell people three hours. But really, by then it's been heated up and it's dried by the end of the day. We start about eight in the morning. We're flexible on the times. We could do overnight instead if that works.

Maybe fleas. But yeah. But at that point, if it's not bed bugs, you have almost no problem at all. You just call a general pest control company and they spray for whatever.

Absolutely. And it's always best to let them know that you're having someone come out and treat. You know, we've done thousands of homes in the over five years we've been doing this. condos, apartments, mobile homes, penthouses, mansions, we've done it all and we don't have any issues but always nice to let them know that we're going to be there so that way they don't stop us while we're right in the middle of treating you know.

On the day of the treatment, we just don't want them leaving with a lot of things like bags of clothes or just anything, right? Just we just want them leaving with the clothes that they're wearing and the shoes on their feet. And when they return, it's best if they upon return, the first thing that they do.

That growth inhibitor in that spray, when and that lasts for six months, it starts to dissipate at close to two months. So we tell you it lasts for well over a month, but it hangs out for six months, which is really.

It is weird. And of course, we only deal with bedbugs. So I'm not good with other bugs. But I've been around the block a few times. So I can usually at least point you in the right direction. I'm kind of clueless on this one. So it could be just gunk from like an older window, I can tell it's an older unit.

You if you feel like you're getting bitten but you don't have any signs that you're being bitten and you don't have any I guess you know evidence that there's that there are still live bed bugs Then you may be experiencing this. And this is a real thing. I have talked to people before that have, you know, and we have been back to their house, do investigations and more inspections and cannot find any evidence of bedbugs. You may be experiencing this and that's okay.

There could be, especially if somebody's in and out of their closet a lot, which, you know, on a daily basis we are. And now in warmer months, that's what we worry about because everybody's wearing long sleeves. So if by chance you had a bedbug hitchhiker on your sleeve and didn't know it reached in to get something else, it could fall off.

I can also ask our owner, I mean, if your landlord's going to leave you high and dry, then come back to me, let me know, and I can ask our landlord, our landlord, I can ask our owners if we could do a payment plan for you. We don't do them often, but we do want to help people out, you know, so, you know, and we understand the situation. It's tough living paycheck.

That's what it is when somebody's dealing with bed bugs and they don't realize. So they don't protect themselves to protect everybody else. So when we sit down where someone has been that has dropped a few off. It's a pretty good high probability that they're going to cling on to our clothing, shoes, bags and ride home with us.
