Why we run both, on every job

Heat

Reaches into mattress seams, bed frames and wall voids a spray cannot. Kills every stage, eggs included.

Residual

Keeps working for weeks after we leave, so anything that survives or arrives later does not restart the problem.

One visit

Bed bugs die at 118°F held about 90 minutes; 122°F kills almost instantly. We hold lethal temperature throughout the home.

Asked on a call from Palm Coast

May 2026

Every question below was asked by a real caller on a recorded call, 1 of them from Palm Coast and the area we cover from here, and every answer is what one of our crew said back on the phone, word for word. We give the caller's first name, or their postcode where we do not have one, and never their surname, address or phone number.

How much it's is its new

It depends on the size of your home so do you know the square footage of your home okay

Answered by Dori on a call,

Should we take them out?

I'm going to say this with a little bit of humor, okay? Please don't take offense. They have already gone through a higher heat than we are going to put them through.

Answered by Dori on a call,

What makes them come out versus what makes them just sit there for a year?

When they're looking for food, so if you, if your garage, if you never went into that garage, got into your car to drive away, got in there to do laundry or get something out, then they would probably just be sitting in one spot. Okay.

Answered by Dori on a call,

How much was the whole payment was $1,800 they were able to come down?

That's the lowest that we can go, but we're just going to work with you on the payment so that it's a little bit less of a hassle for you to make those. But $1,800, I wasn't able to get them to come down from that.

Answered on a call,

Is that what you would do?

That is exactly what I would do. It's, they don't burrow. They're not like termites or something like that that would burrow. They see an opening and take it. They're not going to make one. They're lazy. Okay.

Answered by Dori on a call,

Do it is I could give you the code if you want to jump out and run to the keypad.

You try backing up because this person is going to be there honking at me.

Answered by Victor on a call,

In our own words

20 from recorded calls

This is our own crew, on recorded calls about jobs in Palm Coast and nearby. Word for word. Each one says who was talking and when.

Staying over somewhere like overnight and you need to bring a change of clothes with you, I would recommend washing and drying those change of clothes first, put them through the dryer on high heat and then immediately put them into some kind of a plastic bag or something that you can cinch up.

Mike

What you're going to have to do, so any laundry that is still in the shed, when you come back home at your leisure, okay, do the laundry. make sure it's done on a high heat dryer for at least 40 minutes before you bring any items back into the home.

Dori

Don't panic yet, okay? What I want you to do is all of your bedding, any soft textile items that are in and around your bed, clothing, bedding, throw pillows, what have you, run through a high heat dryer for at least 40 minutes. If there are bedbugs and eggs on them, it will kill them.

Dori

Only the best way to kill these bugs is with heat. That's the best way. It's a scientific fact that anything above 122 degrees kills them all, even the eggs.

Chase

Unplug those things. So the day of treatment you... Just try to leave as much as you can there. Try not to leave the house with any backpacks or luggage or bags or anything. Typically people do have to leave with some stuff. So what I tell people is try to pack things in a clear bag, like something disposable, like, you know, a shopping bag or something like that. But nothing that has been laying around in your house.

Chase

It's usually in a little cluster of three. We call it breakfast, lunch, and dinner. One bed bug will come out once every three to five days and bite.

Dori

Then again, there is the FastPay link right there at the bottom to make sure that's paid tomorrow morning before it gets there or this evening, whatever is easier for everybody. And then if you need anything, if you have any questions, if you need what we do. for Airbnb, we do inspection letters. So whether, you know, they're negative or positive, we do inspection letters if treatment is done. If you need a treatment letter, we do that as well. So you just let us know.

Dori

You don't want to leave it in a vacuum. You don't want to leave it in the trash because they can get out. With your suitcases, I would say vacuum those really well inside and out. And I would leave.

Dori

You're welcome. Well, so many people are saying, oh, well, I have bed bug bites. I can tell. And it's like you really can't tell unless the bed bugs are able to bite you in a zigzag pattern of three breakfast, lunch and dinner. or a linear pattern, a straight line pattern, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Dori

I suggest calling your homeowner's insurance company. Okay, depending on the company and depending on the policy, there are some companies like State Farm, I know for a fact, if you have a bed bug addendum in your policy, they allot you $1,000 towards treatment.

Dori

When they arrive, when they arrive, are they going, they will have a truck and a trailer that they're pulling behind them. Will they be able to be off of the main thoroughfare as they get to the gate while they're waiting for her to let them in?

Dori

Rather than what you saw on the internet. Okay, so the adults are about the size of an apple seed. The eggs and the babies that come out of those eggs.

Dori

They drop off on the floor, they immediately look for the first dark place to hide. Many times that's a baseboard. And then, of course, if they don't have anybody sitting or laying near them when they get hungry, they're going to start picking up on the carbon dioxide that everybody's emitting in the apartment, and they're going to make a beeline to the closest person.

Dori

Bed bug behavior is... So, they're very unpredictable. Their behavior is so strange. We've heard some very, very strange stories from customers about where they were bitten, where they were found, and it never surprises me.

Mike

I would say if you have any over-the-counter cortisone cream, use it. If not, maybe grab some or even take him to his primary and get some cortisone cream. That will help with the itching and make him feel at least a little bit more comfortable. Okay? So get me those pictures of his bites. Get me the pictures of anything else you find around.

Dori

Because it takes about an hour to set up, it takes about an hour to get up to temperature, and then it takes about an hour to break down. And I have to send two guys there because I have to huff hoses up to the fourth floor.

If you need a letter to Airbnb or VRBO or anything like that, we know exactly what they need to see. We can provide that to you. We deal with a lot of Airbnbs.

Julie

Carpet beetles are little, well, they're little beetles about the size of a bed bug, so about the size of an apple seed, and they'll be kind of black and little patches of gray or brown with little patches of taupe. Almost looks like an argyle pattern.

Dori

It's our job to kind of check what they're saying, and that's kind of how we figured it out, which is good. I'm glad I was really busy that day, and I was really dirty, so I couldn't, like, audit his points because my arms were knee deep in mud.

Dori

Exactly. We do make exceptions. We know that sometimes people just fall into unfortunate circumstances. We understand that, and we absolutely will roll with those punches. But like I said, just stay in touch with us. If you find one that's alive, get a hold of us, and we'll take the conversation from there, okay?

Why choose us

Why Palm Coast calls Bed Bug Exterminator

We kill bed bugs. Only bed bugs. One method, done right, in a single visit — heat and a residual product together, on every job we run.

Discreet service

Unmarked vehicles and personnel

No logos, and no mention of bed bugs on trucks, equipment or uniforms. Neighbours see a van; they do not see why it is there.

Guaranteed results

Total peace of mind

Sixty days of cover on every job. Should bed bugs survive the treatment, which is rare, we come back out and eliminate the problem for good at no cost.

Bed bugs only

No other pests, ever

One method, done right, in a single visit. It is the only approach we sell, which is the reason we are good at it.

The press comes to us

Quoted as bed bug experts

Reporters do not find us in a directory; they come looking for someone who does this all day. CNN introduces Allan as the operations expert at Bed Bug Exterminator, and he has been quoted by name in thirty articles across fifteen national outlets.

Locally owned

Community-focused service

Seven offices across Florida and Maryland, each with its own locally staffed crew. The office that quotes your job is the one that turns up to it.

Competitive pricing

Affordable, high-quality heat solution

Priced by the size of the home rather than by the room, and quoted over the phone before anything is booked. No site visit, and no per-room upcharges.

Top-quality service

Experienced, dedicated team

As Allan puts it: once we take on your project, your bed bug problem becomes my bed bug problem. If it turns out not to be bed bugs, we say so and cancel the contract. That has happened.

Premier equipment

The single best solution — Heat Assault

Heat Assault reaches kill-zone temperature throughout the house and keeps climbing, which is what takes out the eggs as well as the adults. Paired with a residual spray on every job.
